Ok.. so Friday was a little nuts. Let me back up by saying about three months or so ago, my co workers and I watched this building a block away from us burn to the GROUND in 30 minutes. I am not kidding, from the time we saw a little flame in the window to the whole thing being on the ground was 30 minutes... so I have been a tad bit freaked about working on the 5th floor.
Ok, so Friday afternoon, the fire alarm goes off. Last time the alarm went off, there was no recording. This time, a man's voice came on and said "This buildings alarm has been activated. Please make your way to the nearest exit". . Well, you don't need to tell this girl twice, I beat all my co workers down. I was not RUNNING mind you, but I was certainly hauling butt, you know, to be on the safe side.
We get to the first floor and they tell us "yes, this was just a false alarm" So I say "ok, I am not going to take the stairs back up, I will just wait for the elvators to work again" About this time, I realize I am having a problem catching my breath, which is a no brainer, I get short of breath just walking around the building sometimes, so you can imagine after five flights what I was doing.. then everyone starts getting nervous because I really could NOT catch my breath, I start hyperventilating. I was shaking like a leaf.. it was freaky. The fire men show up for the alarm and end up coming over to take a look at me... umm kind of embarassing but I let them do their thing. When I went to the doctor on Thursday my blood pressure was 110 over 90 and when he took it after the alarm it was 170... yes, I was freaked out. So I finally calmed myself down and went up the elevator to relax for a minute before I went home.. then I started getting cramps.. Karla, my co worker, was like "GET IN THE CAR".. I called my doc and he said that it was braxton hicks and that I just needed to go home and relax, drink lots of water and if they continue, to come on in. They did not continue, so I did not have to go to the hospital.
I must have really got the baby riled up because the little darling spent the whole night kicking and moving, just letting me know "Hey mom, I am alright in here".. haha, it was actually a relief.
I had many calls from co workers, the conversations were the same.. starting off with concern of my health, the baby etc.. after they were assured that I was alright, the lectures began, they were all given with love, but man I heard it. I don't know what possessed me to haul down the stairs, all I can say is, I had the adrenaline pumping and there was no slowing my butt down!!
Other than that.. things are great. On Thursday's appt the doc said my cervix is thinned out ALOT but no dialation... we can see what he says next Thursday, if I make it that long!!
Hope to hear from you guys!
We love you!
